Lot 4 N&W #611, Pocahontas, Powhatan Arrow Promotional Advertising Serving Trays

Description

I am offering 4 identical promotional advertising serving trays depicting the Norfolk & Western #611 class J 4-8-4 Northern steam locomotive, also known as the “Spirit of Roanoke”.
It was built at “the Roanoke Shops” in 1950.
They appear to have never been used as they are still stacked with what appears to be the original wax paper separating them to prevent scratching.
There is no cover for the top & bottom of the stack.
I do not know the history of the trays and they are not actually dated.
The promotional details on the back (see PICs) mention the Powhatan Arrow and the Pocahontas named trains; but, I see no direct connection to the “Bryan Station” in Bryan, OH (NW part of the state), according to research online.
The only connection I can find is that the listed photographer, John L. Marquis, Jr. took the photo of the #611 on Aug. 11, 1986.
He was a photographer for the Bryan newspaper and, also, helped take care of the “Bryan Station.”
The above would suggest the trays are from the late 1980’s – early 1990’s.
