has been hand carved on the Island of Bali. The birds are carved from hibiscus wood, & polished to a smooth finish. The the birds beaks are gathering nectar from the flower formed from the parasite wood mushroom. Each flower is then m
ounted upon a base formed from another piece of parasite wood mushroom.  A delicate and
intriguing
wood carving perfect for the hummingbird lover.
Each carving is unique and each one will have a different mushroom formation, this is not a flaw, but a reflection of the natural and handcrafted origins of this unique product.
Requires simple assembly. This comes apart for easy shipping, Very easy to reassemble when this arrives to you. You may add a dab of glue to secure if you choose
Size of the base will vary due to the natural shape from 4" to 6" sometimes slightly larger

The Chinaberry tree is a tree that grows in Indonesia. This type of tree host a natural fungus or mushroom that causes the wood to swell & burst to form these mushroom like growths. The branches die and fall off the living tree. The carvers then gather the oddly shaped branches from the forest floor, treat them to neutralize the fungus, and carve them into these imaginative works of art!
