Ferdinand Schumacher (1822–1908), The Oatmeal King, was the founders of
one of
the
companies that merged to become the Quaker Oats Company: The German Mills American Oatmeal Company (established in the 1850's).  Quaker Mill Company was founded in 1877.  In 1888, seven major oat mills merged to form The American Cereal Company.  The Quaker Oats Company was founded in 1901 by the merger of four major oat companies, including Quaker Mill Company and The American Cereal Company.
This box advertises a little known flour produced by Quaker Oats called Schumacher's XXX Health Flour.  I found it registered in 1916 and 1917 only, and another reference indicates it is likely a graham flour.
The box measures 20x12.5x11 inches.  Two sides are mounted so that the lettering is upright with the box opening up, and the other two opposite sides are mounted in reverse to that so that the bottom is up.  This is nice, regardless of how you wish to display the box, with the top closed, or open.
The wood is dried out and the lettering is faded as shown, but the box is sturdy and ready to use.  It is dusty on the interior.  It has normal signs of age and previous use otherwise.
